21 Jun 2016 — Silvino Rodrigues led all drivers most for 12 of 19 laps on a run for first place in the Hidden Valley Polo92 in Round 6 of the VW Polo Trophy Season 3 series.

Rodrigues traded positions with Rasa Djordjevic in a long and tense battle for the race lead starting early on, running within a bumper of each other over a range of 15 laps. Rodrigues ran nearly equal parts leading Djordjevic after being engaged by him on the first lap. After losing the spot on lap 4, Rodrigues passed Djordjevic and into first place on lap 11, and defended it against pressure by Djordjevic another five laps toward the conclusion.

Rodrigues moves up to ninth in the standings, eight points behind Porfirio Dias Santos. Rodrigues has three starts and led 32 of his 55 laps while taking the win twice.

VW Polo Trophy Season 3 series moves on to its seventh and final round in a week at Bathurst – Mt Panorama. The series has 30 drivers competing for points in the championship.

Ricardo Gomes leads the championship. The title continues to be challenged by Fernando Silva, Manuel Alves, and Nuno Gaiteira. The Top 5 places are an open battleground for seven drivers in the running with one race remaining.
