10 Jul 2016 — Paulo Braga captured ninth place in the Snetterton BTCC in Round 3 of the DG BTCC CUP series.
Braga wrestled the advantage back and forth with Damian Fratesi in a long and persistent fight for ninth starting early on, passing each other three times over a span of 12 laps. Driving the Honda Civic BTCC, Braga spent the majority pursuing Fratesi after being challenged and passed by him on the second lap. Ultimately Braga settled into ninth through attrition the few laps running to the checkered flag.
Braga is 18th in the standings for the series. He has two starts and finished as high as ninth.
DG BTCC CUP series moves on to Round 4 in a week at Barbagallo Raceway. The series has 25 drivers competing for points in the championship.
Mattia Gullini leads the championship in a tight campaign over Fabio Pereira, separated by just a few finishing positions. The title continues to be challenged by Ken Jagger, Michele Boffelli, Harris Muhammad, Neil Larson, Manuel Alves, Joseph Smith, Vesa Hytonen, Michael Herring, Ricardo Gomes, Lorenzo Donati, Indra Feryanto, Nathan Douglas, Juan Aul, Damian Fratesi, and Arif Rohman as well. The Top 5 places are an open field for 24 drivers in the running with two races remaining.
