25 Oct 2016 — One last pass on the final lap put Jose Casanovas in 10th place at the finish line in the Brianza ’66 Spark F3 in Round 5 of the Formula 3 1968 series.
Casanovas traded positions with Colin Barker in a persistent battle for eighth starting midway through, passing each other twice over a range of eight laps. Casanovas spent nearly equal parts leading Barker after being engaged by him on the fourth lap. After losing the spot on lap 8, Casanovas got around Barker and into 10th place when Barker retired on the final lap.
Casanovas is 19th in the standings for the series. He has one start and finished as high as 10th.
Formula 3 1968 series moves on to Round 6 in a week at Hidden Valley Raceway. The series has 23 drivers competing for points in the championship.
