16 May 2016 — Making his 20th start in the BMW M1 Turbo LE, Scott Ring drove to a third-place finish in the Div I class in the Spa-Francorchamps ’12 Multiclass.

Driving the BMW M1 Turbo LE, Ring took the fight back and forth with Sheen Silva in a long and persistent fight for third starting midway through, passing each other three times over a span of 15 laps. Ring drove nearly all leading Silva after challenging and passing him on lap 11, coming from as many as three places back. After losing the spot on lap 21, Ring passed Silva for the second time and into third place on lap 22, and controlled it the remaining few laps to the conclusion.

Bolas Plata raced at the front of the Div I field most of all drivers, leading 26 of 27 laps on a run to first place.

In the 20 career runs taken by Ring in the BMW M1 Turbo LE, he has led 97 laps in all and taken the victory three times.

Plata swapped leads with Jack Hunt in a fervent battle for the race lead starting midway through, passing each other twice over a range of five laps. Driving the Ford Capri Turbo LE, Plata spent the majority leading Hunt after being caught by him on the first lap. After losing the spot on lap 11, Plata cleared Hunt and into first place on lap 12, and kept it the remaining 15 laps to the checkered flag.

Phil Brown led every lap from first-place start to first-place finish in the Div II class.

Brown drove all of 21 laps total leading Antonio Tavares after being engaged by him on the first lap. Brown controlled the race lead every lap from green flag to victory.

Ricardo Gomes held off Jack Hunt at the finish line by the narrow margin of 0.230 seconds to take sixth place in the Div I class.

Driving the Toyota Celica Turbo LE, Gomes spent the majority of 14 laps total pursuing Sheen Silva after being caught and passed by him on the fourth lap. In the end Gomes settled into sixth the 15 laps running to the checkered flag, holding off Hunt by the hairline margin at the line.

Porfirio Dias Santos made his 10th start in the BMW M1 Turbo LE and captured eighth place in the Div I class.

Jack Hunt led the Div I field for a lap in a run to seventh place.

Antonio Tavares took second place in the Div II class.

Driving the BMW M1 Turbo LE, Dias Santos wrestled the advantage back and forth with Jack Hunt in a long and tense battle for seventh from the middle stages, running within a scuff of each other over a span of 14 laps and changing positions four times. Dias Santos ran equal parts leading Hunt after engaging and passing him on lap 14, coming from as many as seven places back. Ultimately Dias Santos lost the spot on lap 23 and settled into eighth the few laps running to the checkered flag.

In the 10 career runs taken by Dias Santos in the BMW M1 Turbo LE, he has finished as high as second once.

Hunt took the fight back and forth with Porfirio Dias Santos in a long and persistent battle for seventh from the middle stages, passing each other four times over a span of 15 laps. Hunt drove nearly equal parts leading Dias Santos after being caught by him on lap 13. After losing the spot on lap 20, Hunt passed Dias Santos for the second time and into seventh place on lap 23, and held it the remaining few laps to the conclusion.

Tavares took the fight back and forth with Paul Anstey in a lengthy and unrelenting battle for second starting early on, running within a bumper of each other over a span of 27 laps. Driving the Ford Capri Turbo II LE, Tavares spent the majority leading Anstey after engaging and passing him on the fifth lap. After losing the spot on lap 8, Tavares passed Anstey for the second time and into second place on lap 11, and kept it the remaining 16 laps to the finish.

Sheen Silva won fourth place in the Div I class.

Brian Fairley won second place in the Div I class.

Driving the Ford Capri Turbo LE, Silva swapped leads multiple rounds with Nuno Gaiteira in a long and persistent battle for fourth from the middle stages, passing each other four times over a range of 20 laps. Silva spent nearly all leading Gaiteira after being caught by him on the first lap. After losing the spot on lap 23, Silva got around Gaiteira for the second time and into fourth place on lap 25, and kept it the remaining couple laps to the checkered flag.

Nuno Gaiteira took fifth place in the Div I class.

Driving the Ford Capri Turbo LE, Fairley ran the majority of three laps total pursuing Nuno Gaiteira after targeting him on lap 11. Fairley cleared Gaiteira and into second place on lap 13, and kept it the remaining 14 laps to the checkered flag.

Paul Anstey captured third place in the Div II class.

Gaiteira took the fight back and forth with Sheen Silva in a long and persistent battle for fourth from the middle stages, passing each other four times over a span of 20 laps. Driving the BMW M1 Turbo LE, Gaiteira spent the majority pursuing Silva after targeting him on the first lap, coming from as many as three spots back. Ultimately Gaiteira settled into fifth the few laps running to the checkered flag.
