02 Sep 2016 — Nuno Gaiteira captured eighth place in the Sebring Club Lupo in Round 4 of the Lupo Challenge series.
Gaiteira took the fight back and forth with Porfirio Dias Santos in a long and persistent fight for seventh from the early stages, running within a couple turns of each other over a stretch of 22 laps. Gaiteira ran the majority pursuing Dias Santos after catching him on the second lap, coming from as many as three positions back. In the end Gaiteira settled into eighth the eight laps running to the checkered flag.
Gaiteira moves up to fourth in the standings, one point behind Adolfo Onrubia. Gaiteira has four starts and finished as high as fourth.
Lupo Challenge series moves on to Round 5 in a week at St Petersburg . The series has 16 drivers competing for points in the championship.
Fernando Silva leads the championship. The title continues to be challenged by Manuel Alves, Adolfo Onrubia, Nuno Gaiteira, Miguel Teixeira, José Sousa, Rafael Iwata, Porfirio Dias Santos, Luís Almeida, Mateusz Stasiak, Ricardo Gomes, Luis Fernandes, Antonio Tavares, Alaoui Nassim, Agustin Franchetto, and C Naiman. The Top 5 places are an open ring for 16 drivers in the running with three races remaining.
