30 Sep 2016 — Nicola Guarini started on the pole and led every lap on the way to a commanding victory in the WTC ’06 class in the Brno ’07 Multiclass in Round 10 of the Tiago Monteiro WTC Sprint Series 2016.
Driving the Honda Accord Euro R, Guarini spent all of nine laps total leading Porfirio Dias Santos after being caught by him on the first lap. Guarini controlled the race lead every lap from start to victory.
Guarini remains in the lead of the WTC ’06 class standings, increasing the lead over rival Alessio Lucchesi to 131 points. Guarini has 10 starts and led 62 of his 123 laps while taking the win a half-dozen times.
Tiago Monteiro WTC Sprint Series 2016 moves on to Round 11 in a month at Brands Hatch ’07. The series has 41 drivers competing for points in the multiclass championships.
Kenny Press leads the WTC ’07 class championship in a tight campaign over Simone Iezzi, separated by just a couple grid spots. The title continues to be challenged by Aaron Channer and Alex Laush as well. The Top 5 places are an open battleground for 20 drivers in the running with two races remaining.
The top spot in the WTC ’06 class is owned by Nicola Guarini, but the remaining places in the Top 5 are an open battleground for 23 drivers in the running. Alessio Lucchesi, Colin Barker, and Porfirio Dias Santos are all within one race of the current podium.
