05 Nov 2016 — Michele Boffelli controlled the top spot in the WEP1 class most of all, leading 35 of 75 laps on a run to first place.

Mark Carty held the WEGTE class lead for five laps in a run to first place.

Driving the Porsche 919 Hybrid, Boffelli swapped leads with Tobias Mueller in a prolonged fight for the race lead starting midway through, battling over a stretch of 42 laps. Boffelli drove nearly equal parts leading Mueller after being caught by him on lap 23. After losing the spot on lap 42, Boffelli cleared Mueller and into first place on lap 74, and controlled it the remaining lap to the checkered flag.

Boffelli is sixth in the WEP1 class standings for the series. He has one start and led 35 of his 75 laps raced while taking the victory once.
Mike Erickson raced at the front of the WEP2 field most of all drivers, leading 62 of 70 laps on a run to first place in the Mid Ohio – No Chicane Multiclass in Round.

Erickson traded positions with Alex Freitas in a lengthy and determined battle for the race lead starting midway through, passing each other twice over a stretch of 11 laps. Erickson spent the majority pursuing Freitas after being caught and passed by him on lap 34. Driving the Acura ARX 03, Erickson launched an extended challenge at Freitas in the middle stages, staying within a sector behind him and gaining ground over an unbroken run of eight laps. Erickson got around Freitas and into first place on lap 42, and controlled it the remaining 28 laps to the conclusion.

Erickson remains in the lead of the WEP2 class standings, increasing the lead over rival Alex Freitas to 13 points. Erickson has six starts and led 81 of his 336 laps while taking the win twice.

Driving the BMW Z4 GTE, Carty spent all of 61 laps total pursuing José Sousa after targeting him on the first lap. Carty passed Sousa and into first place when Sousa retired on lap 61, and held it the final few laps to the checkered flag.

Carty moves up to second in the WEGTE class standings, 15 points behind Fahn Thomas. Carty has five starts and led five of his 240 laps while taking the win once.

OCEANIKA MOTORSPORT World Endurance Championship series moves on to Round 7 in three weeks at Brands Hatch. The series has 50 drivers competing for points in the multiclass championships.

Fahn Thomas leads the WEGTE class championship. The title continues to be challenged by Mark Carty, Barrett Erickson, Jerry Chen, and Gilles Lalonde. The Top 5 places are an open battleground for 24 drivers in the running with two races remaining.

Mike Erickson leads the WEP2 class championship in a tight campaign over Alex Freitas, separated by just a handful of grid positions. The title continues to be challenged by Porfirio Dias Santos and Ramon Llupart as well. The Top 5 places are an open ring for 13 drivers in the running with two races remaining.

John Van Der Geest leads the WEP1 class championship in a tight campaign over Ken Jagger, separated by just a few grid spots. The title continues to be challenged by Tobias Mueller, Gergely Kovács, Joao Botelho De Sousa, and Michele Boffelli as well. The Top 5 places are an open ring for 11 drivers in the running with two races remaining.

Tobias Mueller logged 28 laps at the front of the WEP1 class in a second-place run.

Driving the Audi R18 E-TRON, Mueller mixed it up with Michele Boffelli in a drawn-out fight for the race lead from the middle stages, battling over a stretch of 42 laps. Mueller spent nearly equal parts leading Boffelli after engaging and passing him on lap 42, coming from as many as three spots back. Mueller fended off an extended attack by Boffelli late in the action, staying just a straightaway ahead of him over a solid run of 18 laps. Ultimately Mueller lost the spot on lap 74 and settled into second the couple laps running to the finish.

Mueller moves up to third in the WEP1 class standings, one point behind Ken Jagger. Mueller has five starts and led 73 of his 264 laps while taking the victory once.

John Van Der Geest led the WEP1 field for seven laps in a run to fifth place.

Alex Freitas logged eight laps at the front of the WEP2 class in a third-place run.

Ken Jagger logged five laps at the front of the WEP1 class in a third-place run.

Todd Chapman captured third place in the WEGTE class.

Van Der Geest mixed it up with Michele Boffelli in a long and tense fight for the race lead starting early on, running within an apex of each other over a range of 22 laps. Van Der Geest spent the majority pursuing Boffelli after catching him on the first lap. Driving the Porsche 919 Hybrid, Van Der Geest launched a prolonged attack at Boffelli in the beginning, staying within an apex behind him and gaining ground over a solid run of 14 laps. In the end Van Der Geest settled into second the lap before retiring early due to incident trouble.

Van Der Geest remains in the lead of the WEP1 class standings, six points ahead of Ken Jagger. Van Der Geest has five starts and led 176 of his 257 laps while taking the win three times.

José Sousa controlled the top spot in the WEGTE class most of all, leading 60 of 65 laps but ultimately settling for fourth place.

Freitas wrestled the advantage back and forth with Chad Chapman in a drawn-out fight for second from the beginning, battling over a span of 61 laps. Driving the Acura ARX 03, Freitas ran the majority pursuing Chapman after being caught and passed by him on the fourth lap. In the end Freitas settled into third the 27 laps running to the conclusion.

Freitas remains in second in the WEP2 class standings, increasing the lead over rival Porfirio Dias Santos to 29 points. Freitas has five starts and led 135 of his 280 laps while taking the win three times.

Jagger swapped leads with Michele Boffelli in a prolonged battle for second from the middle stages, sparring over a range of 39 laps. Driving the Porsche 919 Hybrid, Jagger ran the majority pursuing Boffelli after catching him on lap 14, coming from as many as three spots back. In the end Jagger settled into third the 21 laps running to the conclusion.

Jagger remains in second in the WEP1 class standings, cutting the gap to first’s John Van Der Geest to six points. Jagger has five starts and led 72 of his 304 laps while taking the victory once.

Driving the BMW Z4 GTE, Chapman mixed it up with Alan Chapman in a long and tense fight for third from the early stages, running within an apex of each other over a range of 62 laps. Chapman spent nearly equal parts leading Chapman after challenging and passing him on lap 8. Ultimately Chapman lost the spot on lap 37 and settled into third through attrition the couple laps running to the checkered flag.

Chapman moves up to eighth in the WEGTE class standings, 12 points behind Johnny Gutierrez. Chapman has two starts and finished as high as third.

Porfirio Dias Santos won fourth place in the WEP2 class.

Driving the Ferrari 458 GTE, Sousa started the race in the first spot and was caught by Gilles Lalonde for first on the first lap. Sousa controlled first position every lap from the green flag till retiring early due to dnf trouble.

Sousa is 13th in the WEGTE class standings for the series. He has one start and led 60 of his 60 laps raced while finishing as high as fourth.

Alan Chapman took second place in the WEGTE class.

Chad Chapman captured second place in the WEP2 class.

Dias Santos traded positions back and forth with Bruno Chacon in a long and persistent fight for fourth starting early on, running within a turn of each other over a range of 68 laps. Driving the Acura ARX 03, Dias Santos drove the majority leading Chacon after being engaged by him on the first lap. Dias Santos fended off a prolonged challenge by Chacon in the beginning, staying just a car length ahead of him over a solid run of seven laps. After losing the spot on lap 23, Dias Santos cleared Chacon for the second time and into fourth place on lap 26, and controlled it the remaining 42 laps to the checkered flag.

Dias Santos moves up to third in the WEP2 class standings, 29 points behind Alex Freitas. Dias Santos has four starts and finished as high as third.

Driving the Corvette C7-R, Chapman spent all of 34 laps total pursuing Mark Carty after engaging him on the first lap. Chapman launched an extended attack at Carty in the middle stages, staying within a lap behind him and keeping pace over a solid run of 26 laps. Ultimately Chapman settled into second the few laps running to the conclusion.

Chapman is 10th in the WEGTE class standings for the series. He has one start and finished as high as second.

Driving the Zytek Z11SN, Chapman traded positions multiple rounds with Alex Freitas in a drawn-out fight for second from the beginning, battling over a range of 61 laps. Chapman drove nearly all leading Freitas after engaging and passing him on the fourth lap. After losing the spot on lap 33, Chapman got around Freitas for the second time and into second place on lap 43, and controlled it the remaining 26 laps to the conclusion.

Chapman is eighth in the WEP2 class standings for the series. He has one start and finished as high as second
