29 Aug 2016 — Martin Buchan led all drivers in the IMSA_GTD class most for nine of 15 laps but ultimately settled for second place in the Le Mans Multiclass.
Buchan mixed it up with Alaoui Nassim in a long and persistent battle for the race lead from the middle stages, running within a turn of each other over a stretch of 15 laps. Driving the BMW Z4 GT3, Buchan ran nearly equal parts leading Nassim after catching and passing him on the fifth lap. In the end Buchan lost the spot on lap 14 and settled into second the couple laps running to the finish.
