07 Sep 2009 — Mario Rocha raced past the checkered flag a razor-thin 0.192 seconds ahead of Simon Hegan to take 10th place in the MX5: Miller MS Park in Round 5 of the URL: MX-5 Cup [Euro] series.
Rocha drove the majority of four laps total pursuing Diogo Leal after originally catching him on the first lap. Rocha passed Leal and into 10th place on lap 4, and held it the remaining seven laps to the exhilarating finish with Hegan.
Rocha finished the series ninth in the standings. Rocha made three starts and finished as high as fifth.
URL: MX-5 Cup [Euro] series finished its season after five rounds spanning two months. A total of 42 drivers competed for points in the championship.
James Linton won the championship in a tight campaign over Nikola Vrhovski, separated by just a handful of finishing positions in the end. Linton led 16 laps and took two wins in five races. Nikola Vrhovski and Mark Wicks finished within a race of the title. Calum Cameron and Liam Hatchell finished out the Top 5.
