19 Jan 2010 — Mario Rocha captured 11th place in the Gr5 class in the So76: Autodrom Most in Round 2 of the Tuesday Night Spirit of 76 series.
Rocha spent the majority of seven laps total pursuing Domi Linder after being engaged and passed by him on lap 12. Driving the Fiat X1/9 Dallara, Rocha launched a prolonged challenge at Linder late in the action, staying within a turn behind him and gaining ground over a continuous run of six laps. In the end Rocha settled into 10th the lap running to the finish.
Rocha remains in seventh in the Gr5 class standings, now tied in points with eighth’s Sam Emmett following Emmett’s third-place finish. Rocha has two starts and finished as high as seventh.
Tuesday Night Spirit of 76 series moves on to Round 3 in two weeks at Croft. The series has 33 drivers competing for points in the multiclass championships.
Zak Ollerenshaw leads the Gr4 class championship in a tight campaign over Robert Northway, separated by just a handful of finishing positions. The title continues to be challenged by Rob Milliken, Abat Hernaez, Nuno Areias, Toni Talvitie, Stavros Carayannis, Shivanand R-Singh, Adrian McNaughton, Glenn Waldow, Domingos Faustino, Joao Petry, Billy Kindell, Lokman Ho, and Ricardo Novo as well. The Top 5 places are an open ring for 15 drivers in the running with five races remaining.
Jeffrey Ruskus leads the Gr5 class championship in a tight campaign over Caner Basol, separated by just a handful of finishing positions. The title continues to be challenged by Ivica Bistrovic, Nick Phillips, Josh Troy, Rogier De Klein, Mario Rocha, Sam Emmett, Samet Senturk, Jim Eagan, Domi Linder, Toni Talvitie, Pedro Vaz, Luis Lynce, Michi Schmid, Mark Dowling, Ernie Douglas, Bas Zwartenbol, and Evan F. Madore as well. The Top 5 places are an open ring for 19 drivers in the running with five races remaining.
