04 Aug 2016 — Luís Almeida won 10th place in the Bremgarten ’54 WEGTE in Round 3 of the Powerslave Series.
Driving the Ferrari 458 GTE, Almeida ran nearly equal parts of 12 laps total leading Jorge Herrera after being engaged by him on the first lap. Ultimately Almeida settled into ninth the few laps before retiring early due to dnf trouble.
Almeida is 12th in the standings for the series. He has two starts and finished as high as 10th.
Powerslave Series moves on to its fourth and final round in a week at Lienz 24 Hour. The series has 30 drivers competing for points in the championship.
Marcelo Aiello leads the championship in a tight campaign over Mark Carty, separated by just a couple grid spots. The title continues to be challenged by Bruno Chacon, Fahn Thomas, Manu Alonso, Porfirio Dias Santos, Ramon Llupart, Juanma Martín, and Flávio Carvalho as well. The Top 5 places are an open battleground for 17 drivers in the running with one race remaining.
