09 Aug 2016 — Luís Almeida took 13th place in the Hockenhiem GP Vintage F2 in Round 2 of the 1978 F2 GP series.
Driving the March 782, Almeida ran all of seven laps total pursuing Bruno Chacon after engaging him on the first lap. Ultimately Almeida settled into 13th the couple laps running to the checkered flag.
Almeida drops to fifth in the standings, now tied in points with fourth’s Colin Barker following Barker’s ninth-place finish. Almeida has two starts and finished as high as third.
1978 F2 GP series moves on to Round 3 in a week at Nuerburg. The series has 23 drivers competing for points in the championship.
