03 Sep 2016 — Luís Almeida made a final pass on the last lap for a fifth-place finish in the Sebring Club Lupo in Round 4 of the Lupo Challenge series.

Almeida wrestled the advantage back and forth with Miguel Teixeira in a fervent fight for sixth from the beginning, passing each other three times over a span of eight laps. Almeida spent the majority pursuing Teixeira after catching him on the first lap, coming from as many as four places back. Almeida passed Teixeira for the second time and into fifth place when Teixeira retired on the final lap.

Almeida moves up to ninth in the standings, three points behind Porfirio Dias Santos. Almeida has two starts and finished as high as fifth.

Lupo Challenge series moves on to Round 5 in a week at St Petersburg . The series has 16 drivers competing for points in the championship.

Fernando Silva leads the championship. The title continues to be challenged by Manuel Alves, Adolfo Onrubia, Nuno Gaiteira, Miguel Teixeira, José Sousa, Rafael Iwata, Porfirio Dias Santos, Luís Almeida, Mateusz Stasiak, Ricardo Gomes, Luis Fernandes, Antonio Tavares, Alaoui Nassim, Agustin Franchetto, and C Naiman. The Top 5 places are an open ring for 16 drivers in the running with three races remaining.
