01 Nov 2016 — Jose Casanovas captured second place in the Hidden Valley Raceway Spark F3 in Round 6 of the Formula 3 1968 series.
Casanovas traded positions multiple rounds with Carles Alcario in a lengthy and unrelenting fight for second starting midway through, running within a scuff of each other over a span of 27 laps. Casanovas ran nearly all leading Alcario after being caught by him on the first lap. Casanovas fended off an extended challenge by Alcario in the beginning, staying just a scrape ahead of him over a solid run of seven laps. After losing the spot on lap 13, Casanovas cleared Alcario for the second time and into second place on lap 14, and defended it against pressure by Alcario the remaining 14 laps to the finish.
Casanovas is 14th in the standings for the series. He has two starts and finished as high as second.
