09 Nov 2016 — Joao Botelho De Sousa captured second place in the Magnificent Park – Endurance WEGTE in Round 6 of the World GT Challenge series.
Driving the Porsche 991 GTE, Botelho De Sousa spent all of 12 laps total leading Shinya Takebon after being caught by him on the first lap. Botelho De Sousa controlled second position every lap from the green flag to the finish.
Botelho De Sousa is 12th in the standings for the series. He has two starts and finished as high as second.
World GT Challenge series moves on to its seventh and final round in a week at Miller MS Park. The series has 29 drivers competing for points in the championship.
The top spot in the series is owned by Fahn Thomas, but the remaining places in the Top 5 are an open ring for seven drivers in the running. Sperber Moriya, Alex Alvim, Gilles Lalonde, Carl Schulz, and Shinya Takebon are all within one race of the current podium.
