10 Aug 2016 — Indra Feryanto won second place in the Hockenhiem BTCC in the opening round of the American Touring Car Championship series.
Feryanto spent the majority of 24 laps total pursuing Fabio Pereira after catching him on the first lap. Driving the Honda Civic BTCC, Feryanto launched an extended attack at Pereira early in the running, staying within a car length behind him and keeping pace over an unbroken run of 16 laps. Feryanto passed Pereira and into second place on lap 22, and defended it against pressure by Pereira the remaining six laps to the finish.
American Touring Car Championship series moves on to Round 2 in a week at a circuit to be named. The series has six drivers competing for points in the championship.
Victor Xavier leads the championship in a tight campaign over Indra Feryanto, separated by just a couple grid spots. The title continues to be challenged by Fabio Pereira, Chad Bartrum, Brandon Warren, and Gilbert Eman as well. The Top 5 places are an open battleground for six drivers in the running with six races remaining.
