21 May 2016 — Luke Maney led every lap from first-place start to first-place finish in the Brianza Florio IndyCar in Round 2 of the American IndyCar Series.
Maney spent all of 10 laps total leading Gonzalo Colaci after being caught by him on the first lap. Maney controlled the race lead every lap from green flag to win.
Maney remains in the lead of the standings, increasing the lead over rival Shawn Brown to 35 points. Maney has two starts and led 50 of his 50 laps while taking the win twice.
Gonzalo Colaci won second place.
American IndyCar Series moves on to Round 3 in two weeks at Daytona Road Course – B. The series has 10 drivers competing for points in the championship.
Colaci traded positions multiple rounds with Nikolaus Steven in a lengthy and determined fight for third from the early stages, passing each other three times over a span of 17 laps. Colaci drove nearly equal parts leading Steven after engaging and passing him on the third lap. After losing the spot on lap 5, Colaci passed Steven for the second time and into second place on lap 15, and held it the remaining eight laps to the checkered flag.
Colaci is third in the standings for the series. He has one start and finished as high as second.

Steven took the fight back and forth with Gonzalo Colaci in a lengthy and determined fight for second from the early stages, passing each other three times over a range of 17 laps. Steven drove the majority pursuing Colaci after being engaged and passed by him on the third lap. Steven launched an extended attack at Colaci in the middle stages, staying within a lap behind him and gaining ground over an unbroken run of nine laps. In the end Steven settled into third the nine laps running to the finish.
Steven is fifth in the standings for the series. He has one start and finished as high as third.
