25 Jun 2016 — Gergely Baross won second place in the Silverstone GT Layout Megane Trophy in the opening round of the FKR Megane Championship series.
Baross spent all of three laps total pursuing Olivier Fortin after engaging him on lap 26, coming from as many as three positions back. Baross got around Fortin and into second place when Fortin retired on lap 28, and kept it the final lap to the checkered flag.
FKR Megane Championship series moves on to Round 2 in a week at Donington Park GP. The series has 19 drivers competing for points in the championship.
Felix Fortin leads the championship in a tight campaign over Gergely Baross, separated by just a handful of finishing positions. The title continues to be challenged by Toth Zoltan, Xavier Eugeni, Kristjan Kocjancic, Rob Milliken, Indra Feryanto, Joseph Smith, Marcelo Aiello, Nicolas Coll, Joe Cronk, Victor Jimenez, Olivier Fortin, Porfirio Dias Santos, Aaron Warzecha, Bruno Rizzo, Eduardo Frigotto, Zuretta Zuardo, and Rubens Filho as well. The Top 5 places are an open field for 19 drivers in the running with seven races remaining.
