16 Nov 2016 — One last pass on the final lap put Csaba Lakó in first place at the finish line in the Santa Cruz do Sul Stock Car ’14 in Round 3 of the Swift Sport Autumn Chase series.
Lakó swapped leads with Simon Swarbrick in a drawn-out fight for the race lead starting early on, battling over a stretch of 30 laps. Driving the Peugeot, Lakó drove the majority pursuing Swarbrick after being challenged and passed by him on the fourth lap. Lakó got around Swarbrick and into first place on his final lap.
Lakó moves up to second in the standings, 38 points behind Ken Jagger. Lakó has three starts and led four of his 81 laps while taking the victory once.
Jason Whited raced past the checkered flag a razor-thin 0.007 seconds ahead of Eder Moreno to take fourth place.
Driving the Chevrolet, Whited ran the majority of 29 laps total pursuing Eder Moreno after engaging him on the second lap, coming from as many as four places back. Whited passed Moreno and into fourth place on lap 24, and defended it against pressure by Moreno the remaining seven laps to the breathtaking finish.
Whited moves up to third in the standings, 28 points behind Csaba Lakó. Whited has three starts and finished as high as fourth.
Simon Swarbrick commanded the lead most of all, leading 26 of 30 laps but ultimately settling for second place.
Driving the Peugeot, Swarbrick swapped leads with Csaba Lakó in a prolonged battle for the race lead starting early on, wrangling over a range of 30 laps. Swarbrick ran nearly all leading Lakó after challenging and passing him on the fourth lap. Ultimately Swarbrick lost the spot on lap 30 and settled into second the lap running to the finish.
Swarbrick moves up to sixth in the standings, now tied in points with fifth’s Alan Rasman. Swarbrick has two starts and led 26 of his 59 laps while finishing as high as second.
Swift Sport Autumn Chase series moves on to Round 4 in three weeks at Jacarepagua 2005. The series has 18 drivers competing for points in the championship.

The Top 5 places are an open field for 18 drivers in the running with two races remaining.
Eder Moreno captured fifth place.
Moreno ran the majority of 29 laps total leading Jason Whited after being engaged by him on the second lap. In the end Moreno settled into fifth the seven laps running to the finish, missing Whited ahead by just 0.007 seconds at the line.
Moreno moves up to eighth in the standings, 13 points behind Paul Anstey. Moreno has two starts and finished as high as fifth.
Ken Jagger captured third place.
