18 Nov 2016 — Bruno Rizzo won fourth place in the Zandvoort – National DTM in Round 3 of the Deutsche Tourenwagen-Meisterschaft series.
Rizzo mixed it up with Ricardo Gomes in a drawn-out battle for fourth nearing the finale, wrangling over a range of 23 laps. Driving the Audi A5, Rizzo spent the majority pursuing Gomes after targeting him on lap 17, coming from as many as three spots back. Rizzo launched a prolonged challenge at Gomes midway through, staying within a straightaway behind him and gaining ground over a continuous run of 20 laps. Ultimately Rizzo settled into fourth through attrition the lap running to the conclusion.
Rizzo is ninth in the standings for the series. He has one start and finished as high as fourth.
Deutsche Tourenwagen-Meisterschaft series moves on to Round 4 in a week at Abu Dhabi. The series has 27 drivers competing for points in the championship.
Scott Ring leads the championship in a tight campaign over Mark Carty, separated by just a single grid position. The Top 5 places are an open battleground for 27 drivers in the running with two races remaining.
