04 Sep 2016 — Arwin Taruna captured 11th place in the Brands Hatch Indy BTCC in Round 4 of the British Touring Car Championship [SemiPro] series.
Driving the Honda Civic BTCC, Taruna swapped leads with Harris Muhammad in a lengthy and unrelenting fight for fourth from the middle stages, running within an apex of each other over a range of 20 laps. Taruna ran the majority pursuing Muhammad after targeting him on the first lap, coming from as many as four spots back. Taruna launched a prolonged challenge at Muhammad early in the running, staying within a car length behind him and keeping pace over a solid run of eight laps. In the end Taruna settled into fifth the couple laps before retiring early due to dnf trouble.
Taruna remains in fifth in the standings, five points behind Marcos Kornievicz. Taruna has three starts and led 16 of his 61 laps while taking the win once.
British Touring Car Championship [SemiPro] series moves on to Round 5 in a week at a circuit to be announced. The series has 35 drivers competing for points in the championship.
Harris Muhammad leads the championship in a tight campaign over Muhammad Rafi Hadytama, separated by just a handful of finishing positions. The title continues to be challenged by Fahn Thomas, Marcos Kornievicz, Arwin Taruna, Imam Pratama Rori, Indra Feryanto, Haitham Abdelkader, Gilbert Eman, Fabio Pereira, Jozsef Rebok, Alan Rasman, Porfirio Dias Santos, and Jose Dorta as well. The Top 5 places are an open ring for 35 drivers in the running with two races remaining.
