29 Oct 2016 — April Dillon logged three laps at the front in a third-place run in the SportsCar Portugal Sebring Int’l – 12 Hour GroupC in Round 2 of the Group C Atlantic Motorsport series.
Driving the Mazda 787B, Dillon spent the majority of 18 laps total pursuing Eduardo Beninca after being caught and passed by him on lap 31. Ultimately Dillon settled into third the 19 laps running to the finish.
Dillon is fifth in the standings for the series. She has one start and led three of her 49 laps raced while finishing as high as third.
Group C Atlantic Motorsport series moves on to Round 3 in a week at Mid Ohio – No Chicane. The series has 30 drivers competing for points in the championship.
Eduardo Beninca leads the championship in a tight campaign over Daniel Gomez, separated by just a couple finishing positions. The title continues to be challenged by Ricardo Demateo, Andy Bruno, April Dillon, Darien Bailey, Fahn Thomas, Damian Baldi, Josh Wheeler, Edson Archela, Rino Demeulemeester, Alvaro Perez, Indra Feryanto, Johnny Gutierrez, Marcelo Aiello, Ze Jesus, Eduardo Emilio, Harris Muhammad, Rob Milliken, Nando Ferreira, Maciej Bekas, Flavio Costa, Ian Hannon, Mario Rocha, Porfirio Dias Santos, Nick Phillips, Rich Minkler, Juan Puyo, Martin Vindis, and Arwin Taruna as well. The Top 5 places are an open field for 30 drivers in the running with three races remaining.
