14 Aug 2016 — Alison Valassa captured fifth place in the Harris Muhammad Engineering Snetterton BTCC in Round 2 of the British Touring Car Championship [SemiPro] series.
Driving the BMW 125i BTCC, Valassa ran nearly equal parts of 13 laps total leading Marcos Kornievicz after being engaged by him on lap 8. Valassa fended off a prolonged challenge by Kornievicz in the middle stages, staying just a couple turns ahead of him over a solid run of eight laps. Ultimately Valassa lost the spot on lap 16 and settled into fifth the few laps running to the checkered flag.
Valassa is 11th in the standings for the series. She has one start and finished as high as fifth.
British Touring Car Championship [SemiPro] series moves on to Round 3 in a week at a track to be announced. The series has 27 drivers competing for points in the championship.
Imam Pratama Rori leads the championship in a tight campaign over Harris Muhammad, separated by just a couple finishing positions. The title continues to be challenged by Fahn Thomas, Alan Rasman, Fabio Pereira, Jose Dorta, Indra Feryanto, Marcos Kornievicz, Muhammad Rafi Hadytama, Haitham Abdelkader, Alison Valassa, Jozsef Rebok, Barrett Erickson, Nicola Guarini, Csaba Maczelka, Juan Aul, Porfirio Dias Santos, Arif Rohman, Yang Li, Arwin Taruna, Ken Jagger, Paul Anstey, Nathan Douglas, Fikri Azka, Paolo Sassaroli, Kyle Benton, and Manuel Alves as well. The Top 5 places are an open battleground for 27 drivers in the running with four races remaining.
