A bad day at Laguna Seca!
A day Atlantic Clio’s drivers do not want to remember
The VORC Series arrived to California (United States) for the second race of the Clio Cup, this time at Laguna Seca a very challenging circuit for the Atlantic drivers. Carlos Reina and Ricardo Senior had an awful day in the race. With a very good starting position Senior started in the 8th position with a time of 1:35.599 and a horrible classification Reina was starting in the 16th position with a time of 1:36.406.
In the Race 1 Senior had a bad start and broke his engine with only 5 minutes of race. Reina had a good start winning 4 positions in the first 5 minutes of the race then held the 9th position with an amazing driving but unfortunately lost the connection and couldn’t finish only 4 minutes before the chequered flag.
The Race 2 the Atlantic drivers started in the two last positions, in the first minutes of race they could to advance 10 cars but unfortunately Senior abandoned by problems in his engine. In the middle of the race Reina was 16th as high as possible but was penalized with a drive through to cut track after completing the penalty was penalized for gaining off-track advantage so that conditioned his position in the race, but while he was entering pits there was a car in the middle of the pit entry but Carlos could not avoid the accident and hit the pit wall and that was the end of his race.
The VORC Series returns on February 24 with the Buenos Aires race that will mark the half of the championship.
