6 hours of Sepang: Hard race for the GT’s but only one did finish

The 7 Years Celebration Porsche GTLM didn’t finish

The 911 GTLM did couldn’t finish the race due to server problems. Started from P17 in the class with a pole lap +2.8 slow than the first position, they had a good start gaining as much position as they could.

Marius Nicolae says “those two hours race were good, from last position, I was able to gain position after position, I believe I was on P7 at some point”. Marius took a turn too aggressive and got a penalty (stop and go) but when he stoped for the penalty, the crew thought it was time to change “We tried to swap, but didn’t work, my name remained blocked and Ai took over the car” says Dan Rusu.

“Our car was not good for this race, but was stable and we don’t know how things could be” says Nicolae.

The Corvette C7R GTLM had a tricky race but managed to have a good result in the end. Joe Nathan says “I was 2.3 seconds off of pole and started P15 out of 17 but quickly made my way up to about the 10th where I shuffled around with a few guys” and “I began closing in towards the end of the second stint, I think I was tracking down P7 at the time, and for the most part was really comfortable with the car.”.

A LMP2 and the Corvette made contact at the hairpin at the end of the second sector. It was a 2 minute stop overall, and this was 1hr40 minutes into the race. “I switched with Allie at this point as it was best to swap early.” Said Nathan.

Allie Ferrie about her stint “Found it hard to keep a rhythm in all the traffic do wasn’t doing the pace I knew I could”.

Also “I think the only worrying moment was when the other Atlantic GT car came across on me like I wasn’t there, because I was in their blind spot as they recovered from running wide. Would have been awkward to take both cars out there”

Then was turn for Martin Vindis it all went smooth, had to fuel save a ton but ended up well at the end.

#72 Lisaccount Corvette C7R GTLM finished in 8th place in class and 26th overall.
